Engineered Wood Flooring
High-quality engineered wood flooring available in a wide range of board widths, constructions and finishes. Suitable for modern homes, renovations and underfloor heating systems. Pricing and lead times provided on request.
What Is Engineered Wood Flooring?
Engineered wood flooring is constructed from multiple layers of timber, with a real wood wear layer bonded to a stable core.
This layered construction improves dimensional stability while maintaining the appearance and feel of solid wood.
Unlike traditional Solid Wood Flooring, engineered boards are designed to reduce movement caused by temperature and humidity changes, making them suitable for a wider range of environments.
Engineered flooring is widely used in modern homes, extensions and renovation projects where reliability and performance are essential.
Why Choose Engineered Flooring?
Engineered wood flooring is commonly selected for:
Underfloor heating systems
Wider board formats
Larger open-plan spaces
Apartments and upper floors
Renovation projects
Its stability allows for multiple plank widths and longer board lengths without the same movement risk associated with solid timber.
If you are comparing board proportions, see our Plank Wood Flooring and Wide Plank Wood Flooring options.
Engineered Flooring Options
Engineered flooring is available in a variety of specifications including:
Multiple plank widths and lengths
Various wear layer thicknesses
Prime, rustic and character grades
Unfinished or factory-finished boards
Oil, UV oil and lacquered finishes
Boards can be specified to suit room size, usage level and preferred aesthetic.
Unfinished & Prefinished Engineered Flooring
Engineered boards can be supplied unfinished for on-site finishing or prefinished with factory-applied oils or lacquers.
Unfinished boards allow full control over colour and final appearance.
Prefinished boards provide consistent results and faster installation, reducing on-site disruption.
The most suitable option depends on project timeline and finish preference.
Underfloor Heating Compatibility
Engineered wood flooring is widely regarded as the most suitable real wood option for underfloor heating systems.
Its cross-layered core construction helps reduce expansion and contraction, allowing it to perform more reliably in heated environments.
Board thickness, installation method and subfloor type should always be considered when specifying flooring for underfloor heating.

Whiteriver Barista – Oak Vienna 4V (180 × 14 × 2200mm)
Description
Whiteriver Barista Oak Vienna 4V is a long-board engineered European oak floor supplied in a 180mm wide, 2200mm plank format. Manufactured with a 2.5mm solid oak wear layer on a balanced 3-layer core, the 14mm construction provides reliable stability for residential and light commercial installations.
Oak Vienna is stained and brushed to enhance the natural grain structure before being sealed with a matt lacquer finish. The deeper tone combined with surface brushing gives the floor added texture and visual depth.
Supplied in Rustic / Character grading, Vienna features prominent knots, tonal variation and natural timber markings, delivering a more traditional and character-led oak appearance.
The 4V bevel defines each board on all four edges, creating a clearly defined plank layout across the floor. Installation is via the 5G click system for efficient fitting.
